About God
We believe that there is one true and living GOD,
…the Creator and Ruler of the universe. GOD has eternally existed in three persons: the FATHER (spirit), the SON (incarnate) and the HOLY SPIRIT (spirit). These three are co-equal, having the same divine attributes and perfections, and are one GOD. (Genesis 1:1,26-27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2,11; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
About Jesus
We believe that JESUS CHRIST is the SON of GOD,
… and is co-equal with the FATHER. Without ceasing to be GOD, JESUS left heaven and became human, lived a sinless human life, and offered HIMSELF as the perfect sacrifice for sinners by dying on a cross. HE arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate HIS power over sin and death. HE ascended to Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of the FATHER, where, as our HIGH PRIEST, HE fulfills the ministry of REPRESENTATIVE, INTERCESSOR, and ADVOCATE. HE will return again to earth to reign as KING of KINGS, and LORD of LORDS. (Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30;Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13)
About the Holy Spirit
We believe that the HOLY SPIRIT is equal with the FATHER and the SON, as GOD.
… The SPIRIT is present in the world to make men aware of their need for JESUS CHRIST. The SPIRIT is the supernatural agent in regeneration, and lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. through the SPIRIT’S indwelling Christians are provided with guidance and power for daily living, and understanding of spiritual truth. The Christian seeks to live under the SPIRIT’S control daily. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16;Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:1; 2 Timothy 1:7;2 Peter 1:3,4)
About Humanity
We believe that humanity was created in the image of GOD to have fellowship with GOD,
… but through Adam’s disobedience, the entire human race was separated from GOD. Sin has affected every area of life, and as a result, humanity is incapable of regaining a right relationship with GOD through its own effort alone. (Romans 2:2-5, Ephesians 2:8-9, Genesis 1:27 & 9:6, Psalms 51:5 &58:3, Romans 5:12& 3:23, Ephesians 2:1)
About Salvation
We believe that the blood of JESUS CHRIST, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin
… and reconciliation with GOD. Therefore, the only means to salvation is belief in CHRIST’S substitutionary death and resurrection. Salvation is the gift of GOD brought to man by grace, apart from any works. Upon receiving the gift of salvation, the Christian receives the forgiveness of sin and eternal life, becomes a partaker of CHRIST’S life, death, and resurrection, becomes a new creation, and obtains a new identity as a child of GOD. (Acts 4:12, 13:38-39; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 4:4-5 & 5:1; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 1:4-5)
About the Church
We believe that the church is the body of CHRIST,
… a living spiritual organism of which JESUS CHRIST is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of CHRIST. Members join their resources, spiritual gifts, and lives in order to accomplish the purpose of the church which is to glorify God by loving GOD and by making JESUS known to the lost world. (Ephesians 1:22-23and 5:24-30, 1 Corinthians 12:4-13, 27)
About the Bible
We believe the Bible was written by men divinely inspired
… and is the record of GOD’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has GOD for its author, salvation for its end, and truth for its matter. It reveals the principles by which GOD judges us; and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. The criterion by which the Bible is to be interpreted is JESUS CHRIST. (Exodus 24:4; Deuteronomy 4:1-2; 17:19; Joshua 8:34; Psalms 19:7-10; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12; 1 Peter 1:25; 2 Peter 1:19-21.
