Tenebrae Gatering 3/28/2013

For the 4th year Tapestry will remember the death of our Lord through our Tenebrae gathering. A tenebrae gathering is an ancient Christian worship gathering that helps worshipers reflect deeply on the sufferings and death of Christ for us and our salvation. “Tenebrae” means “darkness” or “shadow.” A tenebrae service uses candles, scripture, singing, and darkness to help us prepare for Easter. Each year is a moving experience.

We are in the Encore Room of the Dreyfus University Center at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. The formal part of the gathering starts at 7 pm and last about 50 minutes. Afterward you are welcome to stay as long as you want. Kids are welcome. The service is somber but we are kid friendly and celebrate kid noises.

Here’s the Facebook event page for the Tenebrae.
