Tenebrae Gathering – Good Friday

Tenebrae Gathering – Good Friday

A tenebrae service is an ancient Christian worship gathering that helps worshipers reflect deeply on the sufferings and death of Christ for us and our salvation. “Tenebrae” means “darkness” or “shadow.” A tenebrae service uses candles, scripture, singing, and darkness to help us prepare for Easter. Each year is a moving experience.

We will meet in the auditorium of Smith Scarabocchio Art Museum (800 Main St, Stevens Point). The organized part of the gathering starts at 6 pm and you are welcome to stay as long as you want after it is finished. Kids are welcome. The service is somber but we are kid friendly and celebrate kid noises.
